Learn About LED Lighting
What are LEDs and how do they work?
LED means light emitting diode. LEDs produce up to 90% more efficient light than incandescent bulbs. How do they work? An electric current flows through a chip, illuminating tiny light sources called LEDs to create visible light. To avoid power problems, the heat produced by the LEDs is absorbed by a heat sink.
Service life of LED lighting products
The lifetime of LED lighting products is defined differently from other light sources, such as incandescent lamps or compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs). LEDs do not burn out or fail. Instead, there is “lumen depreciation,” i.e., a slow reduction in the brightness of the LED over time. Unlike incandescent bulbs, the “lifetime” of LEDs is determined by predicting when the lumen output will decrease by 30%.
How are LEDs Used in Lighting
LEDs are integrated into lamps and bulbs for general illumination. The small size of LEDs offers unique design possibilities. Some LED lamp solutions can physically resemble lifelong lamps and better match the look of traditional lamps. Some LED luminaires can have LED lights incorporated as a permanent light source. There are also hybrid solutions that use a non-traditional replaceable “bulb” or light source designed specifically for a unique luminaire. LEDs offer many opportunities for innovation in lighting and are suitable for a wider range of applications than traditional lighting technologies.
LEDs and Heat
LEDs use heat sinks that absorb the heat generated by the LED and conduct it to the environment. This prevents the LEDs from overheating and burning out. The higher the operating temperature of the LED, the faster the light decays and the shorter its lifetime.
LED products use many unique designs and configurations of heat sinks to control heat. Advances in materials now enable manufacturers to develop LED lamps that match the shape and size of traditional incandescent bulbs. Regardless of heat sink design, all Youlumi compliant LED products are tested for proper thermal conductivity to maintain light output throughout the lamp’s rated life.
How does LED lighting differ from other light sources such as incandescent lamps and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs)?
LED lighting differs from incandescent and fluorescent tubes in several ways. Carefully designed LED lighting is more efficient, more versatile and lasts longer.
LEDs are “directional” light sources, meaning they emit light in one specific direction, unlike incandescent and compact fluorescent lamps, which emit light work and heat in all directions. This means that LEDs can use light and energy more efficiently in many applications. However, it also means that sophisticated technology is required to produce an LED light bulb that emits light in all directions.
The most common LED colours are yellow, red, green and blue. To produce white light, LEDs of different colours are combined or coated with phosphor, which turns the colour of the light into the familiar ‘white’ light work of everyday life. Phosphor is a yellowish material that coats some LEDs. Coloured LEDs are widely used as lights and indicators, for example in computer power buttons.
How does light work?
In an energy saving lamp, an electric current flows between the electrodes at the ends of the gas tube. This reaction produces ultraviolet (UV) light and heat. The UV rechargeable work light is converted into visible light works when it hits the phosphor layer of the lamp. Find out more about energy saving lamps.
Incandescent lamps use electricity to heat a metal filament, known as an incandescent lamp, which produces work light led until it becomes ‘white’ hot. As a result, 90% of the bulb’s energy is released as heat.
Why choose Youlumi’s certified LED lighting products?
There are more lighting options than ever before. Yet Youlumi continues to be an easy choice to save on your electricity bills.
Youlumi brand LED bulbs have special requirements designed to replicate the familiar feel of standard incandescent bulbs so they can be used in a wide range of applications. As shown in the chart to the right, a generic LED bulb that is not Youlumi certified may not diffuse light works everywhere and may disappoint when used in a table lamp.
Factors to be Considered Before Buying LED Lights Online
Design: LED lighting is a versatile design element due to its small size, allowing manufacturers and designers to develop technologies, designs and shapes that were not previously possible.
Lumens, not watts: people have traditionally used watts to measure the brightness of a work light stand since the invention of the incandescent rechargeable work light. How does light work? Watts measure the energy consumption of a lamp, not its brightness. When buying LED lights, you need to check the number of lumens, which is the true measure of brightness. Before you buy a rechargeable work light, choose the appropriate lumen and brightness.
Color Temperature: The choice of color temperature is a very personal issue as it affects how a person perceives the environment. In simple terms, color temperature indicates the appearance of the work light led emitted by the lamp.
Efficacy: The technical term for the efficiency of a light works source, which is how much work light led is produced per unit of electricity, is efficacy. You can save the most money if you choose a lamp with high efficiency. However, some people find this concept confusing. The European Union has introduced energy labels for lamps ranging from E to A++, which are loosely based on efficiency, to help consumers.
Dimming: The dimming function creates a relaxing atmosphere in your home or business. In addition, dimming prolongs the life of the lamp and reduces energy consumption.
Lifetime: if you regularly use LED luminaires, lifetime is another important consideration. If you use LED luminaires regularly, it is important that the LED luminaire lasts a long time. If you choose a device with a warranty, you have the option to replace the device even if it breaks down during the warranty period.
Cost: Last but not least factor is LED light’s price. The initial cost of work light stand is high, but they last longer in the long run. The initial cost of work light led is expensive but the long term life is longer. Think about this in relation to your needs.
