LED Light Therapy
How did interest in red light therapy evolve?
NASA originally began experimenting with red light therapy on plant growth in space and then to help heal wounds in astronauts. Like many developments, other potential uses began to be investigated.
In fact, red light therapy is already widely medically accepted in its use in photodynamic therapy. In this therapy, low-power red laser light is used to activate a photosensitizer drug. The interaction creates a chemical reaction that destroys cells. Itâs used to treat some skin conditions, including skin cancer and psoriasis, acne and warts and other types of cancer.
Now, RLTÂ is being investigated (or already in use) for treating a wide array of health conditions. Whatâs confusing â and controversial â is the effectiveness of the treatment for the purposes itâs being promoted.
Is red light therapy safe?
Red light therapy is just like the wavelengths of light your body needs from sunlight, but without the heat or UV rays that may cause sun damage. Red light therapy is a healthier alternative to all the bright blue light weâre surrounded by every day, which can make it harder to sleep and may lead to other health problems. Today, many people work indoors and look at screens for extended periods of time. Red light therapy can help offset the negative effects of blue light and promote overall wellness and cellular balance.
However, if products are misused â perhaps used too often or not according to directions â thereâs a chance your skin or eyes (if not protected) could be damaged. The long-term safety of devices that use red light therapy is not yet known.
Your safest option is to see a dermatologist or qualified, trained, cosmetic therapist. A dermatologist can make sure your skin condition is what you think it is and can discuss the merits of red light therapy and other treatment options.
How does red light therapy supposedly work?
Such as Red Light Therapy Back Wrap is thought to work by acting on the âpower plantâ in your bodyâs cells called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, such as repairing skin, boosting new cell growth and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work.
Red Light Therapy Back Wrap may work in skin health to:
Stimulate collagen production, which gives skin its structure, strength and elasticity.
Increase fibroblast production, which makes collagen. Collagen is a component of connective tissue that builds skin.
Increase blood circulation to the tissue.
Reduce inflammation in cells.

Fields of application of red light therapy
HUMANS
There are over 4000 published medical studies detailing the effect of light therapy on a multitude of conditions â ranging from osteoarthritis, inflammation, tendon lesions, nerve regeneration, peripheral neuropathy, bacterial infections, non-healing wounds, anxiety, insomnia, Alzheimerâs, Parkinsonâs

HORSES

Our Red light pads were originally created for treating tendon and ligament injuries in horses. Due to the effectiveness of this therapy in speeding up the rate of recovery from such injuries, the product range and applications grew into what they are today. Our Red light pads are now widely used for a variety of equine arthritic/joint conditions, muscle stiffness, inflammation, specific and nonspecific pain, poll tension, sacroiliac pain, laminitis, pre competition warm up and post competition recovery
DOGS
Red Light Therapy Back Wrap is proving highly beneficial for canine use primarily due to its safety and ease of application for a multitude of conditions. Most popular applications for light therapy is in the management of arthritic symptoms, sacroiliac pain, ageing stiffness, intervertebral disc disease, hip dysplasia and ACL repair. Because dogs have faster metabolic rates than humans, are smaller in size and âlive in the momentâ their response to LED light therapy is generally faster than their human counterparts! Dogs usually only need a few short sessions with the Red Light Therapy Back Wrap to show an improvement in symptoms. Sport dogs such as agility and jumping dogs find significant benefit in using the Red Light Therapy Back Wrap both before and after competition as a pre and post competition aid.

Red Light Therapy Wavelength
LED Infrared Red Light Therapy 660nm 850nm
The 660nm red light wavelength penetrated deeper than the 630nm, the 660nm reaches into the entire range of the skin tissue to promote healing and regeneration. Benefits of Reduced training fatigue, inflammation, swelling follow injury and neuropathic pain; improved bone healing and accelerated wound healing.
The 850nm near-infrared light wavelength is longer than Red light wavelength, between 700nm to 1000nm, which penetrate deeper into the tissue to the body’s cells and can pass through bone to assist with healing deep wounds, muscle aches, nerve injury or joint pain relief; most of people select the Near-infrared to treatment these.
